RESIDENTS in Brentwood are being asked whether air quality monitoring should continue.

Brentwood Council are holding the consultation after the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said they could lift Air Quality Management Areas at four places in the borough.

The council is obliged to look at levels of pollution in the air as stipulated by the Government.

Before the monitors are lifted, the council wants to hear from residents about whether the move should go ahead.

The four areas involved are:

  • Nags Head Lane at its junction with the M25.
  • Greenshaw/Porters Close near to the A12 Brentwood Bypass.
  • B1002 Roman Road, Mountnessing close to A12.
  • Fryerning Lane, Pemberton Avenue and Trimble Close close to the A12.

To have your say, contact the council by emailing or calling 01277 312504.

The closing date of the consultation is February 17.
