BRENTWOOD Council is reminding those on their housing register that they need to renew their application before Tuesday.

The council is changing its housing allocations policy following changes to government legislation which has enabled them to give greater priority to those who have a local connection to the borough.

Last month the council wrote to all the applicants currently on the register to notify them of the changes and is now urging people to act quickly to renew their application so it can be reassessed to see if their circumstances fulfill the new criteria.

In order to remain on the Council’s housing register, it is important that applicants read through the fact sheet they have been sent to see if they remain eligible and then re-register their application online before the deadline.

For those that are unable to complete the form online, the council is holding drop-in sessions at the Town Hall where people can obtain advice and assistance in completing the form.

The final drop-in sessions at the Town Hall in Brentwood are on Monday from 11am-3pm, and Friday, June 13 from 9am-1pm.

The sessions are expected to be busy.
