LOSING a parent or loved one is a tragedy for all, but particularly for children.
Now a local charity has been given £40,000 to help youngsters cope in such tragic circumstances.
The grant, from the City of London Corporation’s charity City Bridge Trust, means the Brentwood and Havering bereavement charity can now provide vital support to 30 more children.
A spokesman at the Brentwood and Havering Bereavement Service, said: “The service receives no statutory funding, so is totally reliant on fundraising and grant providers such as City Bridge Trust.
“The grant has covered the anticipated increase in children’s referrals that we will see in 2015/16 and 2016/17, but we still need the support from the community to continue this vital service.”
