Ooh, la la! Calling all foodies, gourmets and Francophiles - an authentic French Market comes to Brentwood next month.

The market will be held in the town’s exclusive Crown Street on Sunday, October 30, with a wealth of stalls selling everything from cheese to handbags.

This special event has been organised by Crown Street traders and the Brentwood Borough Renaissance Group, who have found an established company called France at Home to bring the market to town.

The French market will not only add an exciting touch of the continent to the town but will also help attract people to the various shops and restaurants which will be open on the Sunday.

Brentwood Borough Renaissance Group Chair Clive Othen said: “We know there is an appetite for market stalls in the town – the High Street market continues to flourish.

“But the type of specialist and gourmet goods and foods offered by the French Market will fit particularly well within the environment of Crown Street and we are sure it will prove popular with residents and tourists alike.”

If the French Market proves to be a hit, it could pave the way for similar events in the future.

The market will be open from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, October 30. For more information, visit www.brentwoodrenaissance.co.uk
