It will be time to get into the festive spirit when Shenfield holds its Christmas Fayre on Sunday, December 4.

Local businesses have been working with Brentwood Borough Council to deliver the event, between 1pm and 5pm, and Hutton Road and Hunter Avenue car park will be filled with a variety of entertainment and festive fun for all the family.

Visitors will be able to skate on the synthetic ice rink, sponsored by Pinney Talfourd Solicitors, and have their family photo taken in the ever-popular Snowglobe, sponsored by Mullis and Peake Solicitors.

For shoppers, there will be an array of stalls, selling local food and drink, crafts and Christmas gifts, while the children can visit Father Christmas in his OnaPlate grotto, do some gaming in the Gamewagon, or take a turn on some small fun fair rides.

Entertainment for the event will include street performances from the entertaining Mike and his Barrel Organ, and the hilarious Lollipop Ladies will help guide you through the crowds.

The stage, hosted by Phoenix FM  with a programme scheduled by Churches Together in Brentwood, will feature performances from local schools, choirs and singers, and there will be fun activities in many Hutton Road businesses, such as face painting and Christmas games to get visitors in the festive mood.

Brentwood Borough Council's Vice Chair of the Community, Health and Leisure Committee, Councillor Olivia Sanders, said: "We are looking forward to celebrating the start of the Christmas season in Shenfield again this year. We have lots of activities planned around Hutton Road and Hunter Avenue car park so there will be plenty to keep the family entertained all day.

"We would like to thank the local businesses and the Brentwood Borough Renaissance Group for their support, and especially our sponsors, Pinney Talfourd Solicitors, Mullis and Peake Solicitors and Catalpa Financial Planning Ltd who enable us to bring some special parts to the event."

On the day, the junction of Friar’s Avenue with Hutton road will be closed from 10am to 7pm, but Hutton Road will remain open as usual. Hunter Avenue car park will be closed all day, and all parked vehicles should be removed by midnight on December 3.
