BRENTWOOD Borough Council is reminding residents that a lot of the excess around Christmas can be recycled.

In the run up to the festive season you can stock up on orange recycling sacks or food waste bags if you are running low at our Recycling Roadshows.

The first roadshow will be on Friday 25th November between 11am-1pm at Brentwood High Street, adjacent to the Chapel Ruins.

Residents will be able to find out more about what can be recycled or reused after the Christmas festivities, get recycling tips and you can get information about your garden waste bins service.

Brentwood Borough Council's Chair of the Environment and Housing Management Committee, Councillor Chris Hossack, said: "Over the Christmas season we accumulate more waste such as wrapping paper, packaging from presents and food containers.

“All of these can be recycled in your kerb-side collection rather than going to landfill. And I know Christmas isn’t over yet, but keep an eye on our website for details of how you can recycle your Christmas tree.

“Our team will be on hand at our four Recycling Roadshows to give residents recycling advice and tips about festive recycling. It's also an opportunity to stock up on recycling sacks or food bags if you are running low."
