A SALON is in the running to be named among the UK's ahead of an awards ceremony this summer.

Kennady's, in Ingatestone made it through the heats at the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards, being shortlisted in the Women's Image Award category for the East of England.

It means the salon will be through to the grand final on June 5 after seeing off hundreds of initial photographic entries, and more than 500 regional finalists.

Now just 54 salons from across the whole of the UK will compete at the coverted Grand Final in London.

It was a double celebration after Charlotte Ellis, from the salon, won the STAR Award, given to individual colourists aged between 18 and 24 years old.
