AN accident saw two lanes blocked on the A13 this afternoon, with a man suffering a broken leg.

The crash is believed to have involved a lorry shortly after 12pm on the Southend bound carriageway at the Orsett Cock junction and closed two lane as a result.

The Gazette has contacted the East of England Ambulance Service, which has confirmed it is in attendance.

A spokesman confirmed a male driver was taken to Basildon Hospital, with a suspected broken leg.

The air ambulance was originally dispatched to the scene, but was stood down shortly before arrival.

Traffic is queuing back as far as the Stifford Interchange.
