THE Chelmsford Summer Beer and Cider Festival is returning to the city.

The event is being held in Admiral Park, Chelmsford for four days from July 4 until July 8.

The festival is being held by CAMRA’s (Campaign for Real Ale) which aims are to promote real ales and pubs, and support the industry as a whole.

The event will open each day from noon until 11pm. Over 500 different drinks will be showcased throughout the week including; Real Ciders, perries, pryders, wines and soft drinks.

The Festival has increased the range of Gluten-free and Vegan beers – so there really is something for everyone!

For the first time the event will be offering a small selection of keykeg beers, keykeg is a different technique for making beer and there will be 13 keykeg made beers for visitors enjoy.

This year the festival has adopted an ‘around the world’ theme to the various foods on offer, from Korean street food to the traditional British fish and chips.

Each evening the festival will feature a variety of different types of entertainment and live music.

Entry fees are free before 5pm on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and then £2 before 5pm on Friday and Saturday.

Tickets are £2 after 5pm and £5 after 5pm on Friday, glass hire is £3 and CAMRA members go free.

Some of the music and entertainemtn acts have now been announced.

On the Saturday, the Bouncing Off Concrete will be performing delivering hard rock and pop-rock classic tracks to the audiences, also on Saturday Djangos Tiger will be performing swinging gypsy jazz.

Festival organiser Graham Bishop said: “This year we have continued to build on previous success, and it is set to be the best yet!”

He added that he often advises that people should come earlier in the week to beat the crowds and get a feel for what the Festival has to offer to make sure they don’t miss out on anything!
