Police have charged a man with robbery and possessing a knife in a public place after a shop worker was threatened in South Woodham Ferrers.
Matthew Fearn, 36, of The Withywindle, South Woodham Ferrers, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday August 5.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday, September 4.
Officers received reports of a burglary at Cummings Store, in Gandalfs Ride, at around 11.50am on Friday, July 14.
A man entered the store, demanded cash from the till and ran off with a three-figure sum of cash.
Police then reviewed CCTV and saw the man was holding a kitchen knife.
He was arrested in The Withywindle, South Woodham Ferrers, around 7pm on Thursday, August 3.
