THINGS to get the blood boiling.

Low-life scum who steal from charity shops?

Well, they are certainly up there.

I wonder what goes through their tiny little thieving minds when they roll up to a shop, set up to do good, and snatch a load of goods?

You wonder how desperate these people have to be.

But then you read about this week’s example and they have pulled up on a moped and grabbed the gear.

So they can afford one of them, that’s if they didn’t steal it to start with of course.

What makes this theft all the more galling is it happened at Nicky’s Place in Aveley High Street.

A shop set up in loving memory of Lance Corporal Nicky Mason, who proudly served this country in Afghanistan before he was killed almost ten years ago now.

His devoted dad Dennis, who lives in Aveley, opened the shop and raises money for his son’s memorial fund.

He’s gutted about what’s happened. He told the Gazette: “We do a lot to support the youths in the area and it feels like we’re having it thrown back in our faces for no reason.”

The suspects on the moped are thought to be two teenage boys.

Police are looking for them.

Ironically, a few years in the army is probably just what these little scroats need to inject some decency into them.
