Bupa Hutton Village Care Home in Brentwood has received a ‘good’ overall rating, grading well in all five categories judged by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an unannounced inspection.
Under the CQC’s programme of inspections, all adult social care services are given a rating according to whether they are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.
In its report on Hutton Village Care Home, the CQC said that: “Staff were kind and caring and treated people with dignity and respect. Staff knew people well and people felt listened to and included in decisions about their care and support. Independence was supported and encouraged.”
Residents gave positive feedback about how the staff cared for them, telling the inspector: "It's really first class here. I like to be as independent as possible. I know the staff, and they are all very friendly and often come in for a chat; I don't need very much help, as I can do most things for myself but all the staff are lovely."
Home Manager, Sue Green, said: 'I’m delighted with the result of the CQC report and the positive feedback that it included.
"The report is testament to the people at Hutton Village who work extremely hard to ensure essential standards are maintained and improved upon to make this a homely, safe and comfortable environment for our residents to live in.”
