It’s the best kept secret in north Essex.
So thank goodness we’re now allowed to shout about the Little Scarlet Music Festival.
Originally set up for the community of Tiptree as a thank you from local firm Wilkin and Sons, this summer will be its third year and because of its success, organisers are opening up it to music lovers right across the area.
Taking place in the Jubilee Orchard, in the grounds of the world famous jam makers on July 21 from 1pm to 7pm, performing this year on the Main Stage are such acts as Band of Fools, Chopper IV and Wivenhoe’s Hobo Chang. While headlining will be the big band sounds of Frisco Monk.
As well as the Main Stage attractions, there will be a Busk Stop stage curated by Sound Mirrors but open to singer/songwriters, solo acts, duos and acoustic groups.
There will be also be a children’s area behind the strawberry maze, hula-hooping near the Main Stage, and as you might expect located at such a venue plenty of food and drink stalls, including a licensed bar.
Tickets are available from the Tiptree Tea Room priced £4 with proceeds going to a number of selected charities. For more information on the event go on-line at tiptree.com/littlescarletmusicfestival
