Youngsters have the chance to try different sports at a range of courses run by Chelmsford City Council.

The Get In! Sports Schools are taking place at Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre, Dovedale Sports Centre, South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre and Chelmsford Sport and Athletics Centre (CSAC).

CSAC is offering four athletics courses to budding Jessica Ennis-Hills or Mo Farahs aged four to 11 years old, as well as a multi-sports ‘Mini Olympians’ course.

At Riverside Ice and Leisure and South Woodham Ferrers, the Get In! Swim School offers the nationally-recognised ASA Learn to Swim Pathway.

Wannabe Torvill and Deans should head over to Riverside for the Get In! Skate School, which follows the National Ice-Skating Assocation-approved Skate UK programme. Courses are available for all ages.

Get In! Gymnastics takes place at the centres in Dovedale and South Woodham Ferrers and there are classes for youngsters aged three upwards, while South Woodham Ferrers also runs a dance and drama school for children aged five to 10.

Other courses offered by the Get In! programme include badminton, cycling, table tennis and trampolining.
