A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in Brentwood where a man suffered gunshot wounds.

The victim, a man in his 30s from London, was leaving an event at the Brentwood Centre in Doddinghurst Road just before midnight on Saturday, February 18 when he was shot.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 32 year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday (Tuesday, February 21).

He was taken to Basildon Police Station for questioning where he remains in custody.

Detectives still wantto speak to anyone who was at the Brentwood Centre or in the area between 7pm on Saturday and 1am on Sunday.

They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who attended the venue and has dashcam video footage in their car.
