ONE person has been arrested and seven people were found to be driving with no insurance during a roads policing operation in Chelmsford.
Officers were stopping vehicles in Chelmer Village Way on Thursday, April 13, and also found four people using mobile phones while driving, 49 people not wearing seatbelts and three people driving carelessly.
During the operation, police attempted to pull over a Mercedes Sprinter van at around 6am. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was authorised before the van came to a stop after a stinger was successfully deployed on theA414 near Hylands House.
A 33-year-old man, from Dagenham, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and failing to stop.
