ORGANISERS behind this year’s V Festival have announced urban acts that be performing on the V Street Stage this summer.

Fans flocking to the event in August in Hylands Park, Chelmsford to see legends such as Jay Z can now also look forward to eight urban artists.

Taking to the V Street Stage in the city on Sunday August 20 is South London rapper Yungen, who is known for his catchy punchlines and real lyrical ability.

British girl-band M.O. will be bringing their 90s-inspired smooth hip-hop and R&B tunes to the V Festival crowd, with hit singles “Not In Love” and “Who Do You Think Of” and a debut album on the way, these ladies are not to be missed.

Nadia Rose, will also be taking to the urban stage, equipped with sharp lyrics and infectious tracks including 2016 single ‘Skwod’ this Croydon girl, who just happens to be Stormzy’s cousin, is sure to be a standout of the weekend.

BBC Sound of 2016 nominee Mabel will be blowing up the stage with her debut track, “Know Me Better” and soulful R&B sound.

Mabel has appeared in the music video for Skepta’s “Shutdown”, and is the daughter of Neneh Cherry and Massive Attack producer Cameron McVey.

Teenage marvels, AJ X DENO will be bringing their catchy afrobeats sound to an anticipating crowd.

Also joining the V Street Stage is Northampton Grime MC Izzie Gibbs, Warning Crew’s Lisa Mercedez and Yung Fume.
