FAMILIES are invited to enjoy all that the city’s museum has to offer this summer.

Chelmsford Museum is inviting anyone with a love of science or history, who is looking for somewhere different to take their children for a fun day out, to pay a visit.

The museum is also set in beautiful gardens, just off Moulsham Street, on the edge of the city centre and offers the perfect spot for a picnic.

Upcoming displays include 1950s Fashion - A Decade of Fashion from October until November 26 as well as the Essex in Landscape art exhibition that runs until the end of the year.

The Chelmsford Museum is also home to the Essex Regiment Museum, which celebrates the long and honourable military history of the Essex Regiment. Bringing together uniforms and items from the first formation

of the regiment, to the modern conflict in Afghanistan, the collection is a fascinating insight into how the regiment has

played its part in service to the country.

Nick Wickendon, Museum Manager, Chelmsford Museum, says: “Apart from the permanent displays such as Bright Sparks, which includes Marconi’s television camera and other gems from Chelmsford’s industrial past, we also have fascinating temporary exhibitions which ensures that no visit is ever the same.”

Entry to the museums and gardens is free. For more, visit www.chelmsford.gov.uk/museums
