A LOCAL MP has called for more residents to donate stem cells that could save the lives of many people.

In a tweet, she said: “963 people in Chelmsford are ready to save lives. We need more men & more young people to sign up to stem cell register”.

Mrs Ford’s request has come as part of an initiative being promoted by Anthony Nolan. the group that supports and helps save people battling blood cancer.

The figure of 963 people registering to donate came from Anthony Nolan’s ‘Communities vs Blood Cancer’ figures.

The All Party Parliamentary Group on Stem Cell Transplantation will continue to raise awareness of how regular people may be able to save the lives of people suffering the disease.
