A music and drama society for youths is celebrating its 50th anniversary soon.
The Chelmsford Young Generation was set up in 1968 and is still going strong today.
They will be celebrating their golden anniversary by putting on a performance of Tim Firth’s Our House from 7th to 11th November.
This will be followed by a 50th anniversary ball on Saturday January 27 - which is strictly for adults.
One of the Young Gen directors, Jimmy Hooper, said: “Kids these days get such a rough time, with people saying they are rude and don’t do anything.
"These kids give up their time every week to come down here and work tirelessly after school and at weekends.
"They are dedicated, so professional and produce amazing shows. I am in awe of all of them.”
