Tributes have flooded in to a schoolgirl who has sadly died.

Police called off the search for Holly Clacy, 15, after she went missing around 4pm yesterday after finding a body in Radar Hill, South Woodham Ferrers.

Police are not formally identifying the body they have found and this will be done at the inquest.

However, it is understood that the person they have found is sadly Holly.

Police are not treating her death as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Residents took to social media to express their sorrow for the death of the girl.

Amy Slatter, of Chelmsford, said: "I don't know anyone that isn't heartbroken. I cried for the girl and her family today. Rest in peace angel, and I send my love to her family."

Liz Barbrooke, of Woodham Ferrers, said: "Rest in peace Holly, you were such a lovely girl. My kids and your friends will never forget you."

Kelly Fagelund, 47, Trinity Square, South Woodham Ferrers, whose daughter was friends with the girl, said: "Rest in peace. May you rest in peace beautiful child, may the Lord be a nearby presence to your family and loved ones at this time.

"May you fly free on the wings of angels, I didn’t know you but my daughter was at school with you, you were special and her friend, you will be missed and always remembered."

The Echo also contacted Williams de Ferrers school for a comment but they declined to give one.
