A woman has been remanded in custody following the stabbing of two police officers.
Humaira Akhtar, 50, from Chelmsford has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.
One of the injured officers has had surgery to a serious injury to his leg and is recovering well.
The second injured officer is awaiting further treatment for the injury to his hand.
The incident happened shortly after 11pm on Friday, December 1.
Officers were called to a property, in Springfield Road, Chelmsford, following a report of a concern for welfare.
On arrival they have been approached by a woman with a knife.
The woman has stabbed one officer in the leg and a second in the hand.
