The Great Baddow Natwest branch is due to close next summer.

The bank says use of the branch has changed dramatically since 2012, with transactions falling by 48 per cent in that time. Only 49 customers now visit the branch on a weekly basis and 63 per cent of customers are now choosing to bank digitally instead.

A spokesperson from NatWest said: “We are communicating with our customers affected by the closure and proactively contacting vulnerable customers and regular branch users. We have created a new specialist taskforce dedicated to supporting our customers with training and support with digital skills until the branch closes.”

The bank will close on June 7.
