A CRIMINAL who received a six year prison sentence for his part in a £4.9million fraud remains at large.
Michael McKeon, 47, failed to appear at court hearings for sentencing after admitting two counts of fraud at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Co-defendant John Metcalfe, 60, of Lodge Road, Writtle, was jailed for six years, while McKeon, of Court Drive, Fleet, was handed a six year term in his absence.
Adrian Thomson, of the Serious Economic Crime Unit, said: “We are appealing for your help to locate McKeon, who duped his victims out of millions of pounds to pay for a lavish lifestyle and fund prolific gambling.”
“He surrendered his passport and we believe he is still in the country.”
Anyone with information should contact the unit on 101.
