A SHOP in Hutton has become the 5,000th nationwide to offer customers a parcel delivery and return service.

Costcutter, in Hanging Hill Lane, has become a milestone store for Collect Plus after agreeing to provide shoppers with the service.

Collect Plus started in 2009 and gives internet users the choice of collecting and dropping off parcels at convenience stores rather than the post office.

Visvalingam Manivannan, the store’s owner, said it was an honour to see his shop helping the company reach a big landmark.

Mr Manivannan said: “It is very exciting to be the 5,000th store in the Collect Plus network.

“We’re delighted to be offering the local community a parcel service that meets the needs of their busy lives.

“As we provide free parking, using Collect Plus services here couldn’t be easier or more convenient for our customers.

“The service also provides a great opportunity for us to attract more customers and grow as a business here in Brentwood.”

Mark Lewis, CEO of Collect Plus, said it was great to see the business continue to grow just three years after forming, adding the service has helped shops attract more trade at the same time.

Mr Lewis said: “The strength of our service is its convenience and this has only increased as the CollectPlus network of stores has grown so rapidly.

“Collect Plus has responded to the needs of consumers by offering delivery and returns services that are seamless and fit in with their day to day lives, which ultimately leads to an increase in revenue and repeat business for convenience stores.”
