VOLUNTEERS from a hospice met with London mayor Boris Johnson as part of an initiative.
The St Francis Hospice volunteers, which provides palliative care to people in Brentwood, were summoned by the mayor through the Year of the Volunteer scheme he set up.
A team from the hospice went to City Hall to represent the 800 volunteers who help the charity.
Johnson was told the charity would not be able to operate without their valuable help.
The mayor went on to thank all the volunteers for their efforts before presenting them with individual certificates recognising their hard work.
