TRAINS for a £15billion project bringing a new line running from Shenfield through to Berkshire will be built in Britain.
Derby-based firm Bombardier have been given the contract to construct the carriages for Crossrail in a deal announced by the Department for Transport yesterday.
A total of 65 trains measuring 200-metres in length will be built for the project which is set to go live in 2017.
Shenfield station will be the terminus at the eastern end of the line while Maidenhead will be the last stop out west.
