A FAB four from Brentwood will be hoping to get people to Twist and Shout to Help charity.

The B-Side Beatles are performing at the Brentwood Theatre on Saturday for a special concert being put on by Brentwood mayor Madeline Henwood.

Performing as the Fab Four are Iain Smith, David Burgess, Liam Tolan and Phil Cockerton who all grew up locally.

Their gig at the Shenfield Road venue comes 18 months after the quartet formed the tribute act when they busked outside the Olympic Park in London during the 2012 games.

Mr Smith explained: “We are all in our 20s but act like we’re in our 60s sometimes as we all love the music from that era.

“During the Olympics we decided to go busking outside the park and with all the different nationalities there we thought why not play the greatest export in British music.”

From there they were spotted by an events manager from Wembley who set them with a corporate gig in the famous stadium before securing an agent.

On Saturday money will be raised for the Citizens’ Advice Bureau and Diabetes UK with Mr Smith saying the guys are looking forward close to home.

“We are a bit different to other Beatles tributes as we are accoustic so and we all have a go at playing all the instruments,” he said.

“All of us live in London now but it will be good to come home and play especially as we used to play a lot next door in the Hermit Club, so it will bring back fond memories.

“It is good as well to know we’ll be helping a couple of charities too and we are looking forward to the night.”

The concert starts at 8pm with tickets costing £15.
