SUGGESTIONS for locations to be part of an alternative TOWIE tour of Brentwood are being sought after.
Brentwood Council leader Louise McKinlay is asking residents to help come up with a list of stops for the one-off tour which is being set up after the Conservative councillor's appearance on BBC Essex last week.
Following the recent criticism labelled on the ITV show by Jennifer Saunders, radio host James Whale challenged Mrs McKinlay to take him around the town where much of the programme is based for a tour of the other side of Brentwood.
Mrs McKinlay said: "Although everyone may not like TOWIE, it does hold an attraction that has helped boost Brentwood’s profile.
"But the other side is that there is more to Brentwood than TOWIE - we have a great community, some fantastic parks, independent shops and historical places.
"I was more than happy to take James Whale up on his suggestion of showing him around Brentwood as it helps get the message out on what a fantastic place it is for history, sightseeing, family days out or a night out with friends and I would love to include the favourite places of residents on this tour."
