THE owner of a popular card shop in Brentwood was tragically killed in a freak accident during the recent storms.

Mandy Fowell, 49, died after a large shed collapsed on her at her home in Abridge.

Mandy is the owner of Bizara Cards, based among the popular row of Crown Street shops in central Brentwood.

The shop is run by her daughter, and former TOWIE star Peri Sinclair.

In memory of Mrs Fowell, other shop owners from the street have clubbed together to raise money to have a tribute plaque made up and put outside her shop.

A joint statement from the Crown Street traders said: “Ever since Mandy came here with the shop, about two years ago, she was totally supportive of Crown Street and 100 per cent behind anything we did to promote the street.

“The ideas she had and the way she made them happen were unique and this is a tragic loss.

“When something heartbreaking like this happens you like to think people will pull together and show support and this is why we decided to club together for the plaque as a tribute to Mandy.”

A large picture of Mrs Fowell with the word unique printed above it was put up inside the shop’s front window yesterday.

The image was also put up in the business’s other stores based in Upminster and Loughton.

Her funeral takes place tomorrow.
