Teams from a local building society have taken part in a Muddy Obstacle Challenge at the Nuclear Races course near Brentwood.

60 staff from Saffron Building Society volunteered to get wet and muddy and raised over £3,000 for the Society’s Community Fund in the process. They climbed through ditches, swung on high bars and finished with zip-wiring and the infamous “death slide” into the lake.  The money raised will be distributed at year-end and good causes from across the region can apply for donations.

Saffron Building Society established its Community Fund in 2010 to provide charities, community groups, and good causes in the region with grants to help improve the lives of local people. The Community Fund is managed by local independent grant-making charitable trust, Essex Community Foundation and grants are allocated annually.
