Three Brentwood Centre apprentices enjoyed a kickabout with Prince Harry at a famous sports ground.
Jake Watson, Harrison Barrett and Mikaela Kennedy, along with Brentwood Centre manager Nicky Smith, met the Prince at Lord's Cricket Ground in London on Friday, October 7.
The visit was to celebrate the trio starting on the Coach Core apprenticeship scheme, which was launched by the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry in 2012. Working in partnership with Active Essex, the scheme helps young people looking to gain further education and employment in sport.
The new apprentices were delighted to meet the Prince.
Harrison, 18, from Harold Hill, said: "It was great to be at Lord's as part of the Coach Core programme and to meet Prince Harry. He was very down to earth and was there to have a bit of fun."
They said they were looking forward to working on the Coach Core programme.
Jake, 21, from Pilgrims Hatch, said: "The most exciting part will be working with the staff and the people who take part. I think it will be amazing learning about all the different sports the Brentwood Centre offers. I might take up some new sports myself."
Mikaela, 19, from Upminster, added: "I currently participate in gymnastics and have worked as a volunteer for the past five years at Havering Gymnastics club. I really enjoy working with children and I would like to widen my knowledge of coaching in this area."
