The Brentwood Centre are hosting a Learning Disability campaigners workshop for residents in partnership with learning disability charity Mencap.
Local learning disability groups and individuals will take part in the event on on Tuesday, March 14, which aims to raise the voices of people with learning disabilities.
People with learning disabilities and their supporters are welcome to attend to find out more about campaigning locally and nationally.
Topics covered will include health and other campaigning areas.
Mike Le-Surf is Mencap's campaign officer for the South of England and has worked in the campaigns team for almost seven years.
He said: "I am delighted that this important workshop will take place at the Brentwood Centre where everyone is welcome.
"The voice of people with learning disabilities is so often ignored and I am keen that people across Essex will attend the workshop which will focus heavily on health services and support campaigning both locally and nationally."
All attendees on the day will be offered free access to the Brentwood Centre's facilities including swimming during the day.
