A SCHOOL has received high praise from Ofsted following a recent inspection.

Meadgate Primary School, in Mascalls Way, Great Baddow, has been rated as good in overall effectiveness, and is outstanding in personal development and for early years education, according to the education regulator.

In a report published on Tuesday, David Turner, lead inspector for Ofsted, said: “Exceptional leadership is ensuring that children make significant progress in all areas of learning from their different starting points.

“Parents are highly supportive of the quality of education provided to their children in the early years. The learning environment in the early years is attractive, safe and very well organised.

“Teachers and assistants have a very thorough knowledge of every child and pay close attention to keeping them safe and building their confidence for learning.”

Meadgate has 200 pupils on its books and is part of the Eveleigh LINK Academy Trust, made up of Larkside Primary, Purleigh Primary, Maylandsea Primary and Maltese Road Primary Schools.
