Brentwood School’s growing cohort of orienteers were out in force at the Birchanger Woods event.
The students were putting in a string of pleasing performances in Bishops Stortford on Sunday.
The young navigators traversed a challenging course which unusually went through an urban area meaning the competitors had to plot a route through residential streets.
Emma Bowie-Britton returned home in first position on the Orange (2.7km) route in a time of 24 minutes 26 seconds with Jessica Mills taking second spot in 32 minutes. Sarah Prior was fifth in 41 minutes 17 seconds and Kate Bowie-Britton was seventh in 48 minutes 29 seconds.
For the Yellow (1.7km) route Heather Trevelyan took the honors in a time of 15 minutes 40 seconds and Mayukha Rodrigo was third in 17 minutes 50 seconds.
The orienteers’ next outing is at Langdon Hills, Basildon, on November 5.
