Detectives investigating the death confirmed that the woman and her who were found dead in their Brentwood home died a result of an insulin overdose.

Nadine Loveman, 37 and her son Steven aged three-and-a-half months were found by the ambulance service on Sunday March 12 at a property in Wellesley Road, Brentwood.

They were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination and toxicology tests proved inconclusive, but further testing found their deaths were caused as a result of an insulin overdose.

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Stuart Truss said: “This is an extremely sad and distressing case for everyone involved: in particular, Nadine and Steven’s family, who we continue to provide support to through specialist trained officers.

“I would ask that they are allowed to grieve in private at this difficult time.”

Essex Police is not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident and a file has been provided to the coroner.
