Charity Christmas Carol concert will raise money for charity.
The debut carol concert will raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society whilst spreading festive cheer across Essex this Christmas.
The event will be ‘dementia-friendly’ with stewards on hand who have taken part in Dementia Friends information sessions and there will be clear signs in the venue to help people find their way around.
Mussara Gray, Community Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society in Essex, said: “We’re in for a real treat this year with our first ever carol concert in Essex.
“We’re hoping people will bring along the whole family for what promises to be a truly uplifting evening.
“By coming together to unite against dementia, participants will be helping to increase awareness of a condition that is set to be the 21st century’s biggest killer and could affect us all.
“There are more than 20,000 people living with dementia Essex. All proceeds will help Alzheimer’s Society provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.”
Highlights will include musical performances from Funky Voices Choir, Exaltation! Gospel Choir and Alzheimer’s Society’s local Singing for the Brain group.
Mince pies, a hot drink or festive tipple will give a warm welcome to people attending the concert on December 16.
The event will take place at Brentwood Cathedral, from 6.30pm. Tickets for the concert start from £5 for children under the age of nine, £10 for adults and £15 for a combined ticket for a person with dementia and their carer.
