Officers have released an efit of a man they would like to speak to, following reports by a 14-year-old boy that he was approached by a man in Brentwood.

The man was reported to have pulled up alongside the teenager in a silver Ford, at around 4.20pm, on January 24 in Hutton Drive, near Springfield Avenue.

He asked if the boy knew where Hanging Hill Lane was. The boy gave him directions, however the driver asked him to get into his car and show him.

When the boy declined and walked away, the driver sped off in the opposite direction.

The man’s Ford is believed to have been a silver B-max or C-Max.

Pc Rebecca Charge, who is investigating the report, said: “The motive behind this incident remains unclear, and if you think you have information which could help us establish why the boy was approached, please get in touch.

“We’d like to reassure people that incidents like this are unusual, and there have been no similar reports of this nature since.”
