A murder investigation has been launched after a teenager was chased and stabbed to death in Chadwell Heath.
Police were called at approximately 22:30hrs on Wednesday, 14 March to reports of an assault on Padnell Road, RM6.
Officers attended and found an 18-year-old male suffering from a stab injury nearby on Nash Road, RM6. He was taken by the London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital where he died at 01:16hrs.
His next of kin have been informed. Formal identification is yet to take place.
A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.
A crime scene remains in place.
One man has been arrested in connection with this investigation.
At this early stage, it is believed that he may have been chased by a number of suspects before being attacked.
