Round-up of the Brentwood teams in the T Rippon League

IT was a wash-out across most of the T Rippon leagues last weekend with rain causing havoc across the divisions.

In the Premier Division, Bentley 1st’s draw with Thurrock was the first of many stalemates.

The match was reduced to 38 overs per side, but only Bentley completed their innings, scoring 269 for 8. Tom Johnson scored 90 and Steve Coleman 77, with Umar Sultan taking 3 for 73. Thurrock’s innings was washed out almost immediately after it started.
In division one, Rettendon and Ingatestone were both victims of the weather.

Rettendon were 55-2 when the rain came and the teams decided on an early tea. The match was reduced to 24 overs and Rettendon continued on to 84-3 before the rain made its way back and the match was abandoned.

Division seven was a total wash-out.

Navestock Ardleigh Green 1st racked up 324-6, including 136 from Greg Forster and an unbeaten 107 from Matt Simmons, but  Woodham Mortimer 2nd didn’t even get a chance to reply before the rain came.

Mountnessing 1st made 253 without loss, including tons from Pearce and Patel, against Great Wakering 1st. In reply, Wakering were 23-1 before the heavens opened.

Elsewhere, Bentley 3rds were 79-3 against Ongar 1st when the rain started, and Danbury 1st set South Weald a target of 260
