ESSEX Eagles qualified for the Royal London One-Day Cup quarter-finals despite their final South Group match against Gloucestershire at Bristol falling victim to the weather.
With leaders Somerset defeating Hampshire in a thriller at the Ageas Bowl, the point for the washout was enough for the Eagles to secure a last-eight tie.
Rain reduced the match to 38 overs per side but, after Essex won the toss and elected to bowl, the wet weather returned and the umpires called off the match around 6.30pm.
Essex will be away at Warwickshire in the last eight, with matches to be played on August 17 and 18.
