BILLERICAY Town boss Craig Edwards was happy with his side’s 1-1 draw at Lowestoft but still felt they could have taken all three points.

An own goal from Travis Cole put Billericay in front before the home-side wasted a great chance to equalise when former Southend United midfielder Michael Spillane saw his penalty saved by Jack Giddens.

Lowestoft did draw back level when Chris Henderson netted at the start of the second half.

But Edwards felt Billericay could still have come back to won.

“I would have taken a point before the game and I am still quite pleased with it but I’m not completely satisfied if that makes sense,” said Edwards.

“We made the worst possible start to the second half when Lowestoft equalised and there was a 10 or 15 minute spell when they were on top after that.

“But we made three substitutions and they were all brilliant when they came on.

“We missed some good chances late on, one of which was a sitter.

“It’s frustrating as a win would have taken us fifth but we’ve only lost once in 15 games now so we’re obviously doing something right and Lowestoft hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for us over the years either.”
