BASKETBALL: AFTER watching his team move joint top of EBL Division One, Leopards’ coach Dejan Mihevc was delighted with the weekend’s pair of victories.

The Big Cats defeated the league leaders on the road for the second straight week as they returned from Derby Trailblazers with a 91-79 victory before hammering Reading Rockets 91-65 the following day.

“It was great team performance on Saturday with a great effort and a lot of discipline” said Mihevc.

“To win a team with such quality like Derby only proves that we work good and hard and once again all players deserve a lot of respect and praise from me.

“It was a nice and deserved win for our team. “We knew what style and rhythm of the game Reading wants to play and our goal was to seat different rhythm and attack them in transition from first minute.

“We managed to do that and we played good all-around and controlled the whole game.”

Leopards will look to complete a double against Derby on Sunday when the sides meet at the Brentwood Centre (4pm) but before then they face a trip across London to face Westminster Warriors on Saturday evening.

At Derby on Saturday, Vernon Teel, Ousman Krubally, David Buchberger and Zak Wells scored the points.
