BENFLEET will be looking to continue their recent form when they head to Walthamstow tomorrow.

Gavin Blowes side dented Stanford-le-Hope’s bid to be among the promotion places come the end of the season when they beat the fourth-placed side last Saturday.

The seven-wicket victory moved the Woodside Park team up to eighth in the Division Three standings and within seven points of tomorrow’s hosts.

Blowes will be hoping for another win to lift his Benfleet side above Walthamstow, who lie a place above tomorrow’s visitors going into the match.

But Walthamstow are also in good nick having beaten Ardleigh Green by seven wickets last Saturday.

At the top of the table, Basildon & Pitsea will be determined to secure maximum spoils when they host bottom-of-the-table West Essex at Mopsies Park tomorrow.

Michael Gray’s troops are 22-points adrift of unbeaten league leaders Old Brentwoods following their narrow one-wicket win over Westcliff-on-Sea at Chalkwell Park last weekend.

A defeat for the men from Mopsies could allow third-placed Westcliff-on-Sea to leapfrog Basildon again as they are only five points behind the new towners following their defeat last Saturday.

Chris Gladwin’s Westcliff team head to Epping hoping Charlie Lockhart can maintain his form with the bat after he walloped an unbeaten 133 against Basildon & Pitsea.

Fourth-placed Stanford face the toughest test tomorrow on paper when they hosts Old Brentwoods, with Matthew Page’s team determined to inflict that first league defeat on the top dogs.
