BRENTWOOD Town were set to do it all again with Hoddesdon Town this week after their FA Cup third qualifying round tie ended goalless at Lowfield over the weekend.
It was a game full of chances for both teams. The woodwork was struck on four occasions, while Brentwood captain Martyn Stokes also made an expert clearance to deny Jack Bartlett’s thunderous header.
Despite being two levels below the Blues, Hoddesdon looked the sharper of the two sides early on.
The Lilywhites showed why they are on a 14-game unbeaten run, however, remaining the more dangerous side and twice striking the woodwork. Hoddesdon were a constant threat, however, particularly from set-pieces.
The winner will visit Didcot Town in the next round.
