Police are searching for a man who threw a chair and threw it over the counter in a betting shop in Brentwood High Street.
He had previously been asked to leave the premises after becoming verbally aggressive towards staff.
The chair struck the leg of a female member of staff but she didn’t suffer any injuries.
A spokesman for Coral said: "Police are investigating.
"Our number one concern is the safety and welfare of our staff and customers.
"We will be following this up to make sure our staff are fine and any councelling which is needed will be provided."
Police have released a CCTV image of a man the man they want to identify in connection with the public order and assault offences, which took place at Coral at about 6.30pm on April 29, 2016.
Anyone with information is asked to call Pc Edward Gosling at Brentwood police station on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
