TWO schools have been branded good following Ofsted's latest round of inspections.
Inspectors, who visited Ingrave Johnstone School, Ingrave and the Blackmore Primary School in Ingatestone last month, were impressed with pupil's behaviour and teaching quality.
The Partyhouse, which is Ingrave Johnstone's early years division with almost 100 children on its books, scored higher than its previous satisfactory rating.
Blackmore Primary maintained its good rating since inspectors last visited in 2011.
In a letter to Blackmores headteacher Karen Andrews-Close, an inspector said: "The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education since the last
inspection and the school is rapidly improving.
"You have successfully established a
caring environment in which adults and pupils model your core values.
"As a result,
pupils are confident, happy and share your determination that they should be the
best that they can be.
"Pupils’ behaviour was judged to be outstanding at the last inspection. It remains of
a similar high standard."
In 2013, the Partyhouse was labelled satisfactory due to a lack of partnership with parents and the school.
But now, inspectors found those relationships to be strong, and the pupils to be well behaved. Rhombus.
The inspector added:"Children form strong bonds with the staff, helping them to gain a positive sense of
belonging to the group.
"Staff are skilled in promoting children's independence. "Children are confident to select
activities and join in with other children. They are successful in managing their own
hygiene needs.
"Staff have high expectations of behaviour (and) work well with parents to ensure that children's needs are met."
