THERE has been an accident on the A127 Londonbound involving six vehicles. 

The accident, which happened just before 7.30am this morning blocked the carriageway between Dunton on the B148 and Warley for the A128. 

By 8.05am, traffic was queuing back as far as the Nevendon Interchange.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.10am this morning to reports of a six-vehicle collision on the A127.

"Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance officer were dispatched to the scene to help six casualties.

"Thankfully, five of them suffered minor injuries only, and after assessment were safe to be discharged from the scene without further care.

"One patient suffered a suspected neck and back injury, and was taken to Basildon Hospital for further treatment, but thankfully their injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening."

Traffic was being diverted around the scene of the accident by using the slip roads at Dunton.

Although traffic is slow, the road has been cleared.
