Veterans will be celebrated as the flag is raised for Armed Forces Day.

The celebration at Army Reserve Centre, Clive Road, Warley will take place on Monday June 25 where residents will recognise serving troops, service families, reservists, veterans and cadets.

The Mayor of Brentwood, Sheila Murphy will open the event, which will include a prayer and readings by the Army Reserve, Royal British Legion and the Combined Cadet Forces for Shenfield High School.

It will commence with the raising of the Armed Forces Day flag.

Mayor of Brentwood, Sheila Murphy, said: “Armed Forces Day provides a great opportunity for people to come together and show our appreciation for our Armed Forces, past and present.

"I am privileged to be part of this event and would encourage our residents to come and join the local veterans and I as we mark Armed Forces Day on Monday and celebrate the serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans and cadets.”
