HALLOWEEN-loving youngsters are being invited to go along to a morning of ghoulish goings-on this week

A pumpkin carving workshop will take place at Cherry Lane Garden Centre, just off the A120 near Braintree, from 10am on Friday.

The spooktacular one-hour session will give children the chance to pick their pumpkins and carve them into designs such as ghosts, ghouls and ghastly grinning monsters.

The workshop will be hosted by spookily-dressed garden centre staff and will also include some fiendishly fun games.

There will be Halloween cookies, glasses of witches’ brew and goody bags will be handed out.

Prizes will be on offer for the best pumpkin design and best fancy dress costume.

Garden centre spokesman Lorraine Cooper said: “The pumpkin parties look set to provide a hauntingly good time for our younger customers this Halloween.

“We’re looking forward to seeing some smashing pumpkins being created and having fang-tastic fun here at Cherry Lane.

“Come and join us – it’s going to be a scream.”

Tickets for the event will cost £5.99 per child with up to two accompanying adults allowed in for free.

Spaces must be booked in advance at cherry-lane.co.uk.
